Kamome Festival  Celebrates the 11 Year Anniversary of Kamome’s Arrival

The Kamome Festival will celebrate the 11 year anniversary of when the little boat — called Kamome — washed ashore in Crescent City as result of a tsunami in Rikuzentakata, Japan. This tragic event sparked a special sister city relationship between Rikuzentakata, Japan and Crescent City,  California.

The FREE festival is an annual event and is happening on April 11-13, 2024 in Crescent City. The Kamome Foundation will be in attendance and looking forward to informing the community about our mission and current initiatives.

With the help of our community partners, City and County government, Japanese friends and delegates, and our enthusiastic and giving students and locals, we are continuing to grow this multi-day cultural celebration in Crescent City, California every year. Join us this year or mark your calendar for next year!

See the schedule of events at KamomeFestival.com. And be sure to read the full story about Kamome and watch the documentary.
