The Kamome Festival will celebrate the 10 year anniversary of when the little boat — called Kamome — washed ashore in Crescent City as result of a tsunami in Rikuzentakata, Japan. This tragic event sparked a special sister city relationship between Rikuzentakata and Crescent City.

This is a FREE event happening on April 14, 2023 in Crescent City. The Kamome Foundation plans to host this event every April. With the help of our community partners, City and County government, Japanese friends and delegates, and our enthusiastic and giving students and locals, we hope to grow this festival into a multi-day cultural celebration in Crescent City, California.
